Ciak…! Guided tour of Lipari
The Aeolian islands are again a film set.
The film director Christopher Nolan is making his new film called “The Odyssey” in Lipari. There will be popular actors, for example Matt Damon as the mythological hero Odysseus.
The book by Homer
Ulysses lands at the house of Aeolus in the 10th book of the epic poem. Therefore, the Aeolian landscape is perfect to convey the atmosphere described by Homer.
Then to the Aeolian isle we came, where dwelt Aeolus […] in a floating island, and all around it is a wall of unbreakable bronze, and the cliff runs up sheer. (Incipit BOOK X)
